White Fall Table: Neutral Pumpkin Decor

I love color. I really do. But sometimes, I want a light, fresh palette – something that is calming, soothing and peaceful. This doesn’t have to mean boring, however, if you incorporate different patterns and textures into your decor scheme. Walking into several home decor stores recently confirmed that I’m not alone with this train of thought. A lot of retailers have launched products that are perfect for a white fall table this season, as I spied lots of white, creams, grays and flax-colored items for a photo-worthy tabletop with neutral pumpkin decor.

Layering the place settings is one way I like to build depth and interest on my table. I started with a faux leather square placement, then laid this cute sandy-hued leaf shaped placemat on top of it so it would contrast against the white. Putting this directly on the oak table would have made it blend in, rather than stand out on my white fall table theme.

Can you stand this napkin ring?? it’s actually made of twine, wrapped around a wire base. I’ll use this for my neutral pumpkin decor theme all season, into Thanksgiving!

I especially love that I didn’t have to use a single flower for this neutral pumpkin decor – meaning my table will last me much longer!

One of my favorite views of a table – the overhead shot – you can see how I staggered the pumpkins down the center, filling in the gaps in between the larger pumpkins with smaller ones.

To keep the focus on this napkin ring, I slipped my favorite neutral flax colored Belgian linen napkins through them. The more you wash these napkins, the softer they get, and I never iron them. They come out directly from my washing machine and hang over a chair until they’re dry, for a lived-in, slightly-wrinkled look.
The larger pumpkins are faux – the white ones are textured resin that are hand-painted to look more realistic, the gray ones are cast stone with a herringbone pattern and the smaller gray one is hand-painted cement. They all have a golden stem, which gives them a extra current detail.
All of those mini-white pumpkins . . . they’re from Trader Joe’s and cost just pennies. If kept in a cool, dry location, these will last 2-3 months – perfect for repurposing my white fall table through Thanksgiving.
These white goblets have become an instant favorite of mine – they dress up any table and give an added touch of color, even if they are just white!
