An Innovative Chanel Holiday Makeup Party

Looking for an idea on how to gather with a few friends safely this season, but also while doing something fun to help local businesses? Consider a makeup party, where a beauty expert comes to your home and teaches you the latest tricks and trends to look your best. For this gathering, I hosted a small amount of women (only four!) in my backyard while my good friend, Lisa Moore, a Chanel Beauty Manager at The Biltmore Saks Fifth Avenue, allowed us to try makeup, learn new techniques and buy fresh supplies for the season. My co-host was Leslie Lehr, of Leslie Lehr Living, an professional organizer and lifestyle expert. To be safe, our tables were spaced for social distancing, only those we knew well were included and it was held outside with plenty of fresh air.

Lisa showed us how to properly clean our brushes – warm water and soap once a month, then let air dry on a fresh towel overnight.

Most of my makeup is Chanel, so being able to introduce a few friends to what I love most was so fun for me.

Previewing the latest holiday beauty trends from Chanel . . .soft glimmer, dramatic lashes, cream-based eyeshadow pens, blush sticks, and long-wearing lipsticks are at the top of the list! Leslie and I had a blast with our friends learning the new trends!
Chanel goodie bags were provided at the end of the makeup party! What lucky guests!

Cream-based products are making a huge comeback right now, mostly, because they stay on longer than powder-based products with mask-wearing.

My own makeup was used to demonstrate how to apply long-wearing lipstick – something that we all need while wearing masks every day.

Who doesn’t feel glamorous after being made up by one of the best make up artists? It’s always such a treat for me!

Towards the end of the night – the candles have melted and the soft sunset light cast a beautiful golden glow on our intimate makeup party.
Part of Lisa’s training taught us how to apply makeup that looks best for Zoom-type meetings, with different lights and shadowing. This amazing makeup mirror has a ring light built into it which simulates natural sunlight for flawless makeup application. Everyone needs this mirror in their beauty arsenal!
