I’ve always found the weeks between Halloween and Thanksgiving a confusing time to decorate. You’re past the black, orange and purple, but not quite to the turkey decorating stage, and you’re definitely not thinking of dragging out the Christmas decor. Enter my transitional Fall table using heirloom yellow and green squash.
For me, sometimes it just takes a trip to the grocery store floral section or local farmer’s market for inspiration of what my table might be that week. Trader Joe’s provided the foundation for this setting with their selection of heirloom squash and zucchini. And, let’s face it, it’s getting to be a busy time of year, so the easier I can make it on myself, the better. I’m not kidding when I say this took me 20 minutes to style this table, but I think it looks great and it’s something that can be replicated very easy. Here’s how I did it:

I love the time between Halloween and Thanksgiving, but how do you set your table? Here’s my answer for a transitional fall table

Trader Joe’s had a huge box of squash and zucchini in yellows, greens and whites, which became my inspiration for the decor. I simply placed them on either side of the platter.

Using my everyday white porcelain plates kept this table setting simple and one squash on each plate helped it tie in with the centerpiece.

My oversized white platter was the perfect vessel to hold the flowers. I use this to serve food on, as a focal point for my kitchen island with candles, or even to store fresh produce.

This table looks out onto my pool and is one of my favorite places to entertain – it’s such a serene setting
These seagrass chargers are ones that I use all year round . . . very versatile for any table setting
Green glass goblets are a fun addition and give a pop of color that ties into the centerpiece

Yellow flowers that I spotted at Trader Joe’s became my muse for the table – and they already came in their own cute woven seagrass basket!
Flax linen napkins in a neutral color let the cabbage napkin rings stand out
