Elegant Farmhouse Table: Whimsical Animal Decor

Sometimes all you need to make a table setting extra special is one unique element, and this table is a perfect example. I used everything I already had in my entertaining arsenal for this elegant farmhouse table, but added farm animal accent plates from an artist who specializes in whimsical animal decor.

To keep the focus on the cute plates, I used subtle table linens with a soft, thin black and white stripe. I’ve had this table runner and napkin set forever, and these are one of my go-to linens to complete my setting.

My favorite gold-rimmed scalloped plates look like fine china, but in reality, these are dishwasher and microwave safe!

White goblets add a touch of color and give another point of interest to my elegant farmhouse table. I’ve been collecting colored glassware for several years and now own pink, blue and green glasses.

White and black pumpkins have been recycled throughout the years, but they still look fantastic and work well with any table decor because of their neutral color.

I added some potato vines from my backyard to give a more nature-inspired vibe to my whimsical animal decor. The white hydrangeas are faux – such a great floral for a centerpiece because they take up a lot of room without being to tall to see the guest across the table.

I love using accent plates to spice up a setting because it’s an inexpensive way to change things up without committing to entire dinnerware collection. Here are some tables where I’ve used interesting appetizer or dessert plates!
