Beautiful, frayed napkin edges keep the table from looking too perfect
When you think of St. Patty’s Day, you probably imagine leprechauns, pots of gold and lucky shamrocks. While those things are super cute and appropriate for a grade school party, this St. Patrick’s Day dinner party table is elevated to adult status by skipping the novelty trinkets and swapping them for sophisticated decor. I was challenged to design a table for a charity function, but with strict instructions to keep it classy and to fit into an Irish woodsy theme. Here’s how I did it:
The linens
When you enlist the help of La Tavola Fine Linen, you know you will be getting the best, luxurious, and high-quality linens. We chose their sumptuous velvet tablecloth in a Fern color to reflect the mossy ground of a forest floor. Napkins with a slightly frayed edge keep the table from appearing too stuffy.

The place settings
We are super lucky to have a specialty home and entertaining boutique in Phoenix called UrbAna who helped with the place settings for this tablescape. This gorgeous dinnerware is from their Skyros collection and are a perfect neutral without being stark white. Patterns like this lattice work keep it interesting. We chose innovative Chilewich copper open lace placemats that just peak out from underneath the charger. Stunning rose gold flatware by Herdmar compliments the color scheme perfectly.

The Centerpiece
Once again, my floral guru friend, Jennifer Grant of Petals, created this majestic, soaring centerpiece to grace the table. Choosing inexpensive greenery and a few in-season flowers kept this arrangement very reasonable and provides a feast for the eyes. Simple sprigs of greens gathered with a ribbon help tie in the forest theme.

Loose, dried moss is easily found at craft and hobby stores
Tree slices give an earthy feel to the decor and preserved reindeer moss scattered around the base mimics what you would find in a thick, damp forest.
