Holiday Hosting at Home #8: Patriotic Parties

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a blog hop with my entertaining blogger friends, Holliday from Denver, and Holly from Utah, but we’re back now! After a busy spring, we have jumped right back into the summer entertaining season to give you inspiration on ideas for decorating your tables for patriotic parties. These tables can be used all summer long, for Memorial Day, Flag Day (which happens to be my birthday – double celebration for me!) July 4th and Labor Day.

Patriotic Party Inspiration

Polka dot sangria bottles are a cute addition to my patriotic table – bonus that they are already pre-filled with sangria – one is white wine and the other is red wine!

Home with Holliday

Holliday created her table in her lush, expansive backyard, which is such a beautiful setting for her patriotic parties she can throw throughout the season. A denim tablecloth kept the feeling casual and she called a friend who owns a tabletop rental company for the majority of the dinnerware. Holliday mixed up the glassware with both blue and red-rimmed goblets. Inexpensive red geraniums became the centerpiece and can be planted in her yard afterward – I love how she will repurposed them!

It’s so fun to see how the three of us set our tables for different holidays, and this patriotic party theme is no exception. Holly J chose to design hers indoors on her fabulous dining table. Her flags are front and center tucked into her napkins and she used star-shaped ramekins as vases – so creative!

To Have + To Host

Setting a table for a patriotic party doesn’t mean you have to use stars and flags everywhere. I created a table that incorporates red, white and blue, but in a chic and subtle way, which allows this versatile table to be recreated all summer long. Peanuts tin cans were emptied, washed and filled with blue hydrangeas to give a rustic, casual and easy feel to this table
