My grandma used to serve Cheetos in a crystal bowl with white linen cocktail napkins and vodka tonics in ultra-thick highball glasses complete with silver stir sticks. It seemed so fancy at the time, but now that I look back, it was all in the presentation. She wasn’t a very good cook, (sorry, grandma) but no one noticed. If you can make people think they’re eating the best food they’ve ever eaten, you’re doing something right.
My mom has always been a phenomenal entertainer and her table settings enviable. Our family table was always beautifully set and ready for dinner at a moment’s notice. If either of them passed down even an ounce of their talent, I would consider myself very lucky and grateful for the opportunity to inspire others.
So, here goes. My own blog. Born of passion, created with vigor, fueled by inspiration. Sharing my love of food and entertaining and bringing them both together to celebrate all that’s good in life is my mission and I hope to motivate anyone who may follow me.
Here’s to Cheetos in crystal bowls . . .
